Bayswater Station (GPS: 51.51231, -0.18793) is a station of the London Underground in the Bayswater area, in the
City of Westminster. Located in Travelcard Zone 1, it is served by the
Circle Line and
District Line, both running together between the
Notting Hill Gate Tube Station and
Paddington Tube Station.
Bayswater Tube Station is located on Queensway. Among the sights in the vicinity include Whiteleys Shopping Centre, Westbourne Grove, Queens Ice Rink and Bowling Centre, Kensington Gardens and St Sophia's Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Bayswater Tube Station is about 100 meters from the Queensway Tube Station.
Bayswater Tube station dates back to 1 October 1868, when it was operated by the Metropolitan Railway. The District Line began operating here since 1 November 1926 while the Circle Line was introduced in 1949.
