Kennington Tube Station

Kennington Station (GPS: 51.48833, -0.10594) is a station of the London Underground on Kennington Park Road, Kennington, in the London Borough of Southwark. This station is the convergence of two branches of the Northern Line. The Charing Cross Branch of the line enters the station from Waterloo Tube Station while the Bank Branch of the line enters it from the Elephant & Castle Tube Station. They then depend the station south towards the Oval Tube Station. On the London Underground, the Kennington Tube Station is on Travelcard Zone 1, but on the National Rail, it is priced as Travelcard Zone 2.

The Kennington Tube Station opened on 18 December 1890 for the then City & South London Railway, now known as the Bank Branch of the Northern Line. In 1926 the Charing Cross, Euston & Hampstead Railway line was added, and is today known as the Charing Cross Branch of the Northern Line.
