New Bond Street, London

New Bond Street is a prominent thoroughfare in London's West End, extending northward from Burlington Gardens to Oxford Street. It serves as a continuation of Old Bond Street, collectively forming what is commonly referred to as Bond Street.

Established in the early 18th century, New Bond Street has evolved into a premier destination for luxury shopping. The street is lined with high-end boutiques, renowned jewelers, and prestigious art galleries, attracting affluent shoppers from around the world. Notable brands such as Cartier, Hermès, and Tiffany & Co. have established flagship stores along this illustrious avenue.1

In recent years, New Bond Street has reclaimed its position as one of the world's most expensive shopping streets, with retail rents rising significantly. This resurgence underscores its enduring appeal and status within the global luxury market.2

Regarding the usage of the name "Bond Street," while the street is officially divided into Old Bond Street and New Bond Street, the distinction is often overlooked in everyday conversation. People commonly refer to the entire stretch simply as "Bond Street," encompassing both sections without differentiation.1

driving the entire length of New Bond Street is not possible due to a pedestrianised section. Specifically, the area between Grafton Street and Clifford Street has been pedestrianised to prevent through traffic and discourage the street from being used as a shortcut.1

This initiative is part of broader efforts to enhance the pedestrian experience in London's West End, focusing on improving footpaths, seating, paving, and lighting to create a more welcoming shopping environment.3

Additionally, there are plans to pedestrianise the area outside Bond Street's Elizabeth Line station entrance to further reduce traffic and improve accessibility.4

These measures collectively aim to make New Bond Street more pedestrian-friendly, enhancing its appeal as a premier shopping destination.
