Pimlico, London

Pimlico is a small area within the City of Westminster in Central London. It can be considered a southern extension of Belgravia, and is characterised by its stately garden squares and Regency architecture.

The London Victoria Station forms a demarcation separating Belgravia from Pimlico. Other physical separators include the River Thames to the south, Vauxhall Bridge Road to the east and the former Grosvenor Canal to the west. The Pimlico neighbourhood was developed from the street grid laid by town planner Thomas Cubitt in 1825.

Pimlico had a number of famous residents, among them Winston Churchill, Laura Ashley and Laurence Olivier.
