Putney Bridge Tube Station


Putney Bridge Station (GPS: 51.46824, -0.20865) is a station of the London Underground in Fulham, in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. It is served by the District Line between the East Putney Tube Station (heading towards Wimbledon) and the Parsons Green Tube Station (heading towards Upminster or Edgware Road).

The Putney Bridge Tube Station is located on Station Approach, not far from Putney Bridge across the Thames. The station first opened in 1880 as the Putney Bridge & Fulham Station for the Metropolitan District Railway. It was renamed Putney Bridge & Hurlingham in 1902 and to its present name in 1932. Despite the name, the station is in Fulham, across the Thames from Putney.
