Stratford Tube Station


Stratford Station (GPS: 51.54155, -0.00315) is a station of the London Underground which is part of the Stratford Railway Station, a major train station in Stratford, in the London Borough of Newham. In addition to services by the London Underground's Central Line and Jubilee Line, the station is also served by the National Express East Anglia, the London Overground, the c2c trains and the Docklands Light Railway. The station is in Travelcard Zone 3.

The Stratford Tube Station will be a key station during the coming London 2012 Summer Olympics. It was opened on 20 June 1839 for the Eastern Counties Railway. The Central Line began services here on 4 December 1946 while the Jubilee Line opened on 14 May 1999 following extension works on the line.

The Stratford Railway Station here is also called the Stratford Regional Station, to differentiate it from the Stratford International Station which is located next to the site of the London Olympics.

The Stratford Tube Station is served by the Central Line between the Mile End Tube Station and Leyton Tube Station. It is the terminus of the Jubilee Line after the West Ham Tube Station.
