Borough Station (GPS: 51.50126, -0.09368) is a station of the London Underground in The Borough area, within the
London Borough of Southwark. Located in Travelcard Zone 1, the station is served by the
Northern Line Bank branch between
London Bridge Tube Station and
Elephant & Castle Tube Station.
The Borough Tube Station began operations on 18 December 1890 for the City and South London Railway, which was the world's first underground electric railway and London's first deep tunnel subway. It was rebuilt in the 1920's when the tunnels were enlarged.
