Boroughs of London

The main administrative division of Greater London is called borough. This was created by the London Government Act 1963. The boroughs function as a local government district. There is a total of 32 boroughs within Greater London, of which 12 are within Inner London and the rest Outer London. The boroughs of Inner London tend to have a higher population density than those of Outer London, though overall they are smaller in size as well as lower in total population.
