Canada Water Station (GPS: 51.49799, -0.04969) is a station of the London Underground in Rotherhithe, in the London Borough of Southwark. It got its name from Canada Water, the man-made lake that was created from the former dock in the London Docklands.
Canada Water Tube Station is in Travelcard Zone 2. It is served by the Jubilee Line between the Bermondsey Tube Station and Canary Wharf Tube Station. The station is also served by the London Overground trains of the East London Line between the Rotherhithe Railway Station and Surrey Quays Railway Station.
The Canada Water Tube Station was constructed on the site of the former Albion Dock. It opened in 19 April 1999 for the East London Line, and on 17 September 1999 for the Jubilee Line. The design of the station won the Civic Trust Building of the Year Award for 2000, and the Interchange Awards' Medium Size Project of the year award for 2001.
Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.
While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
