The Canary Wharf Tube Station was opened on 17 September, 1999 by London mayor Ken Livingstone. Since then, over 40 million people have been using the station every year, making it the busiest London Underground station outside of Central London, and also the busiest Underground station served by only a single line. It is also in the vicinity of the Canary Wharf DLR Station and Heron Quays DLR Station of the Docklands Light Railway.

The surface entrance of the Canary Wharf Tube Station, which is separated from the Canary Wharf DLR Station of the Docklands Light Railway, comprises two curved glass canopies at the east and west ends of the station, allowing natural light to penetrate into the ticket hall below. Between these canopies is a public park. Under this is the vast station concourse. The platforms are equipped with platform screen doors, safeguarding the safety of the commuters from falling onto the tracks.

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
