Debden Station (GPS: 51.6455, 0.08381) is a station of the London Underground in Epping Forest, in the county of Essex in East England. It is served by the Central Line between Loughton Tube Station (heading towards Ealing Broadway Tube Station or West Ruislip Tube Station) and Theydon Bois Tube Station, heading towards Epping. The station is in Travelcard Zone 6. It is located off Chigwell Lane in Debden.
The Debden train station was originally called Chigwell Road station when it opened in 1865 for the Eastern Counties Railway. A few months later, it was renamed the Chigwell Lane station. The station was forced to closed during the First World War, between 1916 and 1919.
In 1938, plans were made to introduce the Central Line to the station. However it was delayed by the outbreak of the Second World War, and the electrified trains of the Central Line only began serving the station in 1949, during which the station was also renamed Debden. The present station building dates to 1974, when the station was reconstructed.

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
