Kennington is an area in the London Borough of Lambeth, in South London. It is just about 2.3 km (1.4 miles) to the southeast of Charing Cross.

Within the Kennington area are the wards of Oval, Prince's and Vassall. It is in the vicinity of Vauxhall, Walworth, Newington, Stockwell, Camberwll, Brixton and Lambeth North.
