Loughton Tube Station

Loughton Station (GPS: 51.64143, 0.0555) is a station of the London Underground in Epping Forest district, in the county of Essex. It is served by the Central Line between Buckhurst Hill Tube Station (heading towards Ealing Broadway Tube Station or West Ruislip Tube Station) and Debden Tube Station (heading towards Epping). The station is in Travelcard Zone 6.

The first Loughton train station opened in 1856 for the Eastern Counties Railway. It was relocated in 1865. Another station building opened in 1940 in preparation for the electrified trains of the London Underground. However the Central Line only began serving here in 1948. The Second World War had caused a delay of almost a decade.

Commuters can transfer from the trains to the bus at the bus station located at the forecourt of the station.
