Notting Hill Gate Station (GPS: 51.5091, -0.19636) is a station of the London Underground at Notting Hill Gate. It is served by the Central Line, between Holland Park Tube Station and Queensway Tube Station, as well as on the District Line and Circle Line, both between the High Street Kensington Tube Station and Bayswater Tube Station. Notting Hill Gate Tube Station is on the border between Travelcard Zone 1 and Zone 2. It is located near the Portobello Market and Kensington Palace Gardens.

The Notting Hill Gate Tube Station dates back to 1 October 1868, when it was opened by the Metropolitan Railway. In the early years, its name is similar to that of the Notting Hill Tube Station, which has since 1938 been renamed as the Ladbroke Grove Tube Station. The entrance to the Notting Hill Gate Tube Station was rebuilt in the late 1950's and since then served the Circle, District and Central Lines.

The Notting Hill Gate Tube Station is undergoing another round of modernisation in 2010, with the introduction of new ceramic tile finishes.

About this website

Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.

While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
