Oakwood Station, London

Oakwood Station (GPS: 51.6476, -0.1318) is a station of the London Underground in Oakwood, in the London Borough of Enfield. This is the second most northerly station of the London Underground network. It is located at the junction of Bramley Road with Chase Road.

The Oakwood Tube Station is served by the Piccadilly Line between Cockfosters Tube Station, the terminus, with Southgate Tube Station (heading towards Uxbridge or Heathrow Airport Terminals 4 or 5). The station began operations in 1933 for the Cockfosters extension of the Piccadilly Line. It was originally called the Enfield West station. A year later it was renamed Enfield West (Oakwood), and then in 1946, it took on its present name. The station building was designed by Charles Holden.

The Oakwood Tube Station underwent upgrading from October 2006 to December 2007. A new lift was installed to provide step-free access to the platform.

About this website

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
