Turnham Green Station (GPS: 51.49529, -0.25503) is a station of the London Underground in Chiswick, in the
London Borough of Hounslow. The station is in the boundary of Travelcard Zones 2 and 3. It is served by the
District Line and the
Piccadilly Line.
The District Line comprises the Ealing Broadway branch and Richmond branch. On the Ealing Broadway branch, Turnham Green Tube Station is between
Chiswick Park Tube Station (heading towards
Ealing Broadway Tube Station) and
Stamford Brook Tube Station (heading towards
Upminster or
High Street Kensington). On the Richmond branch, it is between
Gunnersbury Tube Station (heading towards
Richmond) and
Stamford Brook Tube Station (heading towards Upminster or High Street Kensington).

On the Piccadilly Line, which runs only in the early morning and late evenings, the Turnham Green Tube Station is between the
Acton Town Tube Station (heading towards
Uxbridge or
Heathrow Airport Terminals 4 or
5) and
Hammersmith Tube Station (heading towards
Cockfosters Tube Station).
The Turnham Green Tube Station is located off Turnham Green Terrace. The station is across the road from the namesake green, next to the railway overpass. It opened in 1869 for the London and South Western Railway. The Metropolitan District Railway, precursor of today's District Line, began operating here in 1877 while the Piccadilly Line began operations here in 1932.
