Walthamstow Central Tube Station


Walthamstow Central Station (GPS: 51.58301, -0.01988) is a station of the London Underground in Walthamstow, in the London Borough of Waltham Forest. The station, which is in Travelcard Zone 4, is also used by trains of the National Express East Anglia, and is a short walking distance from the Walthamstow Queen's Road Station of the London Overground.

Walthamstow Central Tube Station is a terminus of the Victoria Line. The next station after it is Blackhorse Road Tube Station, with trains heading towards Brixton. On the National Express East Anglia's Lea Valley Lines, it is between Wood Street Station and St James Street Station.

The Walthamstow Central Tube Station originally started operations as the Hoe Street Station of the Great Eastern Railway. The Victoria Line only began serving the station from 1968. A pedestrian underpass links the ticket office of the station with the bus station across Selborne Road. The bus station is served by London Buses 20, 34, 48, 58, 69, 97, 212, 215, 230, 257, 275, 357, W11, W12, W15, W19, School Bus 675 and Night Buses N26, N38 and N73.
