Loughborough is a town in Charnwood district, on the northern part of Leicestershire, England. With a population of 60,000 people (2012 estimate), it is the biggest town and second most populous settlement in Leicestershire after the city of Leicester.
Loughborough holds the distinction of being the destination of the world's first package tour, organized by Thomas Cook in 1841 for a group of 540 temperance campaigners in Leicester. The folks were going to Loughborough to hold a rally against alcohol.

Places of Interest in Loughborough
All Saints Church, Loughborough: Anglican parish church of Loughborough dating back to 1288.
Charnwood Museum: The largest museum in Loughborough. It showcases exhibits on the local natural history, geology and industry.
Church Gate conservation area: Cluster of buildings around the parish church. They are excellent examples of the Victorian and Art Deco styles.
