Marlow is a town in Wycombe district,
Buckinghamshire, England. It is located about 53 km (33 mi) to the west of
Charing Cross in central London. The town has a population of 14,000 people (2012 estimate), and is located on the
River Thames.
Marlow dates to the 11th century, just before the Norman Conquest. There was a manor here which William the Conqueror gave to his Queen Mathilda. In the medieval period, it is known as the site of a bridge crossing the River Thames, for the road between Reading and High Wycombe.
Visiting Marlow
You can take a train from London to Marlow. You may have to change trains at Maidenhead. If you are taking the road, use the M40 motorway. At Wxit 4, head south on the A404 road to Marlow.
