Minchinhampton is an old market town in Stroud district, in
Gloucestershire, England. Its history goes back to the Iron Age, based on the existence of an Iron Age fort which today is within the Minchinhampton Common.
The commercial and retail area of Minchinhampton huddle tightly around its High Street. There is the usual array of shops within a small town, such as a dairy outlet, a restaurant, a cafe, and others. At the Market Square is a War Memorial and the Market House, built in the 17th century. The two main churches in town are the Holy Trinity Church and the Minchinhampton Baptist Church.
