Norfolk is a county on the coast in the East of England. Covering 5,371 sq km (2,074 sq mi), Norfolk is the fifth largest ceremonial county in England. It faces the North Sea to the east, and shares a border with Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire to the west and Suffolk to the south. Norfolk has a population of 851,000 (2011 estimate), making it the seventh most populous. Its county town is Norwich, which is also its only city.

Norfolk is within a rural part of England. It comprises seven districts namely Norwich, South Norfolk, Great Yarmouth, Broadland, North Norfolk, King's Lynn and West Norfolk, and Breckland. The area is mainly agricultural. Among the crops grown here include wheat, sugar beat and barley.

The locals of Norfolk speak a regional dialect known as Broad Norfolk. Much of this has died out due to television and radio penetration, but can still be head within the county.
