Shangri-La's Penang Resorts Celebrate Global Wellness Day 2019

Penang, Malaysia, 12 June 2019 - Shangri-La's Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa, Penang, together with Golden Sands Resort, Penang, joint the world in celebrating Global Wellness Day on Saturday, 8 June 2019.

The health and wellness event, the first one of which was organised by the two resorts three years ago, is now on its fourth edition. A crowd totalling to more than 120 people joined the celebration. The event dedicated to "living well, both physically and spiritually" was held in the garden of Shangri-La's Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa, Penang from 8 to 11 a.m. The four-hour programme, with the slogan "One day can change your whole life", seen a host of fitness and spa activities aimed at promoting healthy and mindful living open to the public.

During the event, participants enjoyed healthy and fun activities, such as a Tabata workout session with Tabata instructor Jastin; yoga with Janis Tan, a registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance and complimentary basic health checks by Gleneagles Penang Hospital. In between the activities, the resort served all participants detox juices and free samples of Pevonia Botanica spa products were given away on a first-come-first-served basis.

The programme also included a lucky draw of prizes for free buffet meals, massages and an Instagram hashtag contest for the best photo taken during the event.
