Fernhill Bungalow, Penang Hill (5 March 2005)
Fernhill Bungalow (GPS: 5.42076, 100.26459) is an unused government bungalow on
Penang Hill. Located on a hillock called Hygiea Hill, Fernhill Bungalow is one of the oldest of the bungalows on Penang Hill, second perhaps only to
Bel Retiro. The earliest structure was erected for the use of senior officers of the East India Company and members of the European community after Penang was elevated to the status of presidency in 1805.

Update: 26 January, 2012
On my most recent trip to Penang Hill today, I could hardly see the Fernhill Bungalow. The path leading to it is almost gone, as it the signboard pointing to it. I am not sure whether the bungalow is still standing.
Getting there
Take the
Penang Hill Railway to reach
Penang Hill then walk along the main road,
Jalan Tuanku Yahya Petra until the Penang Hill Police Station. Turn left and continue along Jalan Tuanku Yahya Petra. The Fernhill Bungalow is about one kilometer from the Penang Hill Police Station.

What to see and do
Fernhill Bungalow is just another empty government bungalow. The photographs below is believed to be that of Fernhill Bungalow, although the design appears to be of a more 1960's addition. If anybody was more information about this bungalow, please
write to me.
