New Cathay Cafe, Bukit Jambul (29 October 2020)


New Cathay Cafe (GPS: 5.33539, 100.28978) is a coffee shop in Bukit Jambul, Penang. The coffee shop has the same name as New Cathay in Pulau Tikus. It occupies the ground floor of Taman Bukit Jambul. I used to come here to buy Hokkien Mee, but have not been back for a long time until most recently.

My visits to New Cathay Cafe

My wife and I decided to come here for breakfast. We saw that there are many stalls operating, among them the wan than mee, char hor fun/fried rice, koay teow thng, char koay teow and Hokkien mee/loh mee. We ordered the wan than mee and the char hor fun. The wait was a bit, around 10 minutes or more.

In my opinion, both items we ordered were just so so. Not bad, but not so outstanding that I would eagerly make a return visit, unless to try the other stalls.
