Golden Phoenix is the Chinese restaurant at Hotel Equatorial Penang. The restaurant ushers diners into the world of Chinese cuisine, with particular emphasis on the Szechuan and Cantonese styles. The menu of Golden Phoenix is revised from time to time, and presently includes 34 varieties of dim sum. A pork-free restaurant, it also offers seasonal delicacies on a limited time basis throughout the year.
On my visit to Golden Phoenix for my Tim Introduces food series, the hotel arranged for me to meet all the key members of the restaurant team. With Hotel Equatorial Penang Public Relations Executive, Miss Gillian Tan as host, I had the pleasure of getting to know the restaurant team. The team was pleased to introduce to me a selection of their Dim Sum specialities.
Golden Phoenix restaurant is open Mondays to Fridays from 11:00 am to 2:30 pm for lunch, and 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm for dinner. On Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, it is open 8:00 am to 2:30 pm and 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm. Its speciality Dim Sum menu is available daily during lunch. All meals at Golden Phoenix are à la carte.

About this website
Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.
While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
