Gurney Resort Hotel and Residences (GPS: 5.43055, 100.31939) is a now defunct hotel. It is replaced with Ascott Gurney Penang. The 36-storey hotel is along Gurney Drive in Pulau Tikus, Penang. At 140.73 meters, it is at time of writing the tallest hotel along Gurney Drive. It offers two types of room: the Studio Suite and the Two-Bedroom Suite. The hotel has a coffee house that serves buffet breakfast every morning, and à la carte meals at the rest of the day.

One of the main attractions of The Gurney Resort Hotel and Residences is its infinity pool, which is the biggest along Gurney Drive. Next to the pool is a children's water theme park called Splash on Seven These are all located on the 7th floor of the resort hotel. Also found there are video game machines, a fussball arena and other games facilities.

The Gurney Resort Hotel and Residences has two levels of function rooms. It has a Grand Ballroom that can seat 650 persons at any one time. This is suitable for wedding banquets. There are also four event halls with removable partitions that can be expanded according to required size, accommodating from 50 up to 300 attendees. In addition, the hotel has four boardrooms for various offsite functions.

The podium of The Gurney Resort Hotel will be rebranded as Gurney Walk.

29 November 2019
Edge Prop reports that The Gurney Resort Hotel will be rebranded as Ascott Gurney Penang when the refurbishing is completed in Q4 of 2021, making it the first Ascott-branded serviced residence in Penang. Ascott Gurney Penang will have 250 luxury studio apartments and two-bedroom apartments with average unit size of 57 sq meters.
