Hare Krishna Temple (GPS: 6.435766, 100.190755) is a for devotees of the Hindu deity Krishna following the Hare Krishna movement, which is known as the International Society of Krishna Consciousness, or ISKCON. Officially known as the Sri Sri Radha Krishna Temple of Devotion and Understanding, it is located at Plot 10, Lorong Jelawat 4,
Seberang Jaya, 13700 Perai.
Construction of the Hare Krishna Temple began in 2009. It was only completed and opened on 29 August, 2015. The three-storey octagonal temple is said to be the largest Krishna temple in the country. The temple features
chhatri pavilions arranged around three central Puti-style towers
The completion of the Hare Krishna Temple in Seberang Jaya fulfills the aspiration of Hare Krishna spiritual teacher, A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, to have the temple constructed in the country.
Located within the compound of the Hare Krishna Temple, and built much earlier, is the Hare Krishna's
Bhaktivedanta Cultural Centre, which organises social welfare activities.
