Hock Teik Soo Temple, Mak Mandin (17 August 2015)

The
Mak Mandin Hock Teik Soo Temple (GPS: 5.42241, 100.38615; Traditional/Simplified Chinese: 福德祠), or commonly known as the
Mak Mandin Tua Pek Kong Temple, is a Chinese temple in
Mak Mandin,
Butterworth. It is built for Tua Pek Kong, the Taoist god of prosperity which is reverred throughout Southern China as well as the Nanyang.
When I paid a visit to the Mak Mandin Hock Teik Soo on 29 January 2009, the temple hall was still under construction. It is located next to a Hindu temple, the
Sri Murugan Paribalana Avai. When I returned in 2015, I saw that the temple was long completed, but the Hindu temple next to it has been demolished.
