cui1 kuih4

SojiMart vendor Alice Khim, and decided to add it to this listing. I don't often get to eat this in Penang, and am delighted to discover someone selling it here.
Nyo3nya3 Cang3 (left) and Bak1 Cang3 (right) (29 June 2021)

The above are two of the most popular Chinese dumplings you can find in Penang. On the right is the
bak1cang3
(Bak Chang), the meat dumpling with pork belly, chestnut and duck egg yolk. On the left is the
Nyo3nya3 cang3
. The Penang version is usually all white, but nowadays we are fond to follow the Melaka style, by dying the glutinous rice blue using butterfly pea flower or
bunga telang.
Kni3 Cang3 (alkaline dumplings) (29 June 2021)

The
Kni3 Cang3
, also known as the Alkaline Dumpling or Lye Water Rice Dumpling is a Cantonese-style rice dumpling that is otherwise plain and tasteless. These are usually served with a sugary dipping.
