Areca Hotel Review Stay (24 November 2017)


My wife and I enjoyed the privilege of a review stay at Areca Hotel on 24-26 November, 2017. The hotel is housed in a row of beautifully restored townhouses along Khoo Sian Ewe Road, in the heart of George Town, Penang. During our stay, we were given the very spacious Heritage Room, which is on the ground floor. The room measures 40 square meters and has a queen-size bed. It is comfortably furnished with period furniture, but all the modern amenities are available, from multi-channel television to fast wifi.

Our daily breakfast was taken at the hotel's inhouse Areca Cafe. Although the hotel is of modest size, the breakfast selection was quite good. After breakfast, I was taken on a hotel tour, so that I can have a chance to review all its facilities. I was surprised that the hotel has its own meeting rooms to cater to executive meetings and off-site functions.
