DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Penang Hotel Stay (2 February 2018)
My very first hotel stay for this year is at DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Penang, a hotel in Batu Ferringhi which opened just a month ago, on 1 January, 2018. Our review stay was planned for the weekend starting Friday, February to Sunday, 4 February, 2018, so the resort hotel is just over a month old when I did my visit.

Traffic was heavy that Friday evening, but we managed to arrive more or less on time. Upon our arrival, we were met by Mr Joyi Ng, the Business Development Manager, together with Miss Teresa Brinckmann, one of the trainees, and were smoothly ushered to our room. Our room for the weekend was the gorgeous King Terrace Suite, which comes with an incredibly spacious 32 sqm balcony offering an unblocked panoramic view of the sea. As we were on the 10th floor, we could look across the North Channel towards Gunung Jerai in the horizon.
The hotel had planned an early Valentine dinner for us on the terrace. Let me tell you more about it in the insert.

The Bedroom Photo
It has been a signature for my wife and me that we take a bedroom photo at every hotel we visit. Truly, the visit is incomplete without the bedroom shot, to say that Tim Was Here.

We had a good sleep on the lovely king-size bed, and woke up early the next day. Breakfast was at Makan Kitchen, the hotel's main dining outlet. There is a wide variety of food here, ranging from Western to Chinese, Malay and Indian fare.

After breakfast, we went for a walk. After checking out the swimming pool and the Kid's Club, we crossed the road on the pedestrian bridge - accessible only for hotel guests - and climbed down the slope to the beach. This part of Batu Ferringhi is known as Miami Beach, and it is just next to Moonlight Bay, both of which visible. The beach here was rocky, with boulders of various sizes.

Size of rooms and length of swimming pools can be measured, but hospitality can only be experienced. Understanding this, the numerous hotels in Penang have extended to me the opportunity to experience their hospitality so that I can showcase what they offer to guests on this website. Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
