Wau Ramadhan Buffet, Hotel Equatorial Penang (11 April 2019)
Wau Ramadhan Buffet is the theme of the Ramadhan buffet at Hotel Equatorial Penang this year. It was launched with much fanfare on 11 April, 2018. The buffet will be available from 5 May until 4 June 2019 from 6:45pm to 9:45pm, at the hotel's signature restaurant, nada lama, which is a HAPA Award winner for Benchmark Achiever for Asian Cuisine Restaurant 2018-2020.
Wau Ramadhan Buffet is priced at RM140 nett Adult, RM72 nett Child and RM110 nett Senior Citizen (60 years and above). For a limited time, Early Bird vouchers are available until 18 April, 2019, at just RM90 nett for dine-in from 5-12 May and 1-4 June 2019, and at RM110 nett from 8 April to 12 May, for dine in between 5 May and 4 June 2019.

Wau Ramadhan Buffet preview
The preview of Wau Ramadhan Buffet was carried out at a grand scale. It took place at the cavernous lobby of the hotel, where the General Manager Mr Andreas Knüssi offers a speech welcoming all the invited guests. Following that, there was a traditional dance performed by students from a local secondary school, followed by the official launch of the buffet. Thereafter, Mr Knüssi led the guest downstairs to nada lama Restaurant to enjoy the sumptuous meal readily waiting everybody.
Wau Ramadhan Buffet is a Muslim cuisine extravaganza. Among the items available include Ketam Bercili Kawah Madu (Spicy Chilli Crab with Sweet Sauce), Itik Panggang Rendang Kerisik (Roast Duck with Grated Coconut), Gulai Kawah Daging Campur Ulam Raja (Mixed Beef and Tripe in Herbs Curry Gravy), Kari Kari KTM Palani (Indian Vegetable Curry Trail) and Sup Tulang Rempah Ratus Kawah (Beef Chunks with Mixed Spices). There was so much to eat, so much to try. The food was arrayed in various food stations and food islands within the spacious dining hall of nada lama, as well as in the lanai outside.
