Our stay at Flamingo By The Beach Hotel (3 March 2017)


My wife and I had the wonderful privilege of a review stay at Flamingo By The Beach, a beach hotel in Tanjung Bungah, Penang. We were there at the invitation of the hotel. As is the norm for us on review stays, we arrived at the hotel on Friday evening and checked out on Saturday afternoon. As usually, there isn't a lot of time to fully utilise all its facilities, but what to do, we are such busy people, that's all the time we could fit into our schedule.

The first room that was given to us is a smoking room. We forgot to tell the hotel that we want non-smoking room. So once we discovered that it is a smoking room, we requested a change, and was promptly given another room. Our room has a lovely view of the sea, with Pulau Tikus in the distance.

Every hotel review is an opportunity to eat, eat and eat, and it's no difference with our visit to Flamingo Hotel. This starts with a buffet dinner. The following morning, we had buffet breakfast, followed by buffet lunch. As you can imagine, there isn't much time to get hungry! The main restaurant is called Flamingo Cafe, and I had the opportunity to be introduced to the head of the restaurantg, Mr Mokhtar Osman, and the head of the kitchen, Chef Euzginz Lim.

And on top of that, I also wanted to take a swim in the hotel's very inviting swimming pool, and I am glad I got to do that. The swimming pool wraps around the ground floor of the hotel, just outside Flamingo Cafe. After taking a swim there, we also have chance to go for a walk on the beach. And on top of that, I did a tour of the various types of rooms, so that I can showcase them on my website.

Since time tends to move so fast, we requested a late check out, so that we can spend more time enjoying the facilities. We departed from Flamingo By The Beach at 2pm, feeling pleased with our short stay.
