Rockin' Christmas Party with Hard Rock Heals & YMCA Penang (1 December 2018)

The Hard Rock Heals Foundation, along with YMCA Penang hosted a charitable Christmas party on Sunday, 9 Dec. 2018, at Hard Rock Hotel Penang. With the theme of "Rockin' Christmas Party with Hard Rock Heals and YMCA Penang", the charity event was the first Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) collaboration between Hard Rock Hotel Penang and YMCA Penang. A total of 80 volunteers attended the event including 200 underprivileged children and young adults with disabilities from five non-governmental organisations (NGOs):

- Persatuan Perkhidmatan Komuniti Taiping (ESDA)
- Chrystal Home, Persatuan Kebajikan Anak-Anak Yatim LMSTP, Taiping
- Persatuan Rumah Kebajikan Penyayang Ren Ai, Sungai Petani
- NTA School for the Refugee Children (Rohingya Children's Work), Alor Setar
- The Salvation Army Penang Children's Home

Initiated by YMCA Penang as an annual CSR mission, the event aimed to raise funds for the nominated organisations as they continue to help those in need in their respective communities. This year, the mission raised fund RM13K to help provide educational aid for underprivileged children and young adults with disabilities. Hard Rock Hotel Penang under the Hard Rock Heals Foundation has teamed up with YMCA Penang to support this mission by sponsoring the event venue and hosting a Christmas party for the underprivileged children and physically challenged young adults with disabilities to celebrate the success of the mission.

"Hard Rock Hotel Penang has been advocating and supporting philanthropic causes since its opening in 2009. The hotel supports various philanthropic partners, each tied to different mottos based on the causes the partners focus on. We are delighted to be the first hotel in Batu Ferringhi to join forces with YMCA Penang to spread Christmas cheer while offering amplified services and impressive experiences those in need within the local community."
