The Ramadan Buffet at Ixora Hotel Penang is one of those to which my wife and I greatly look forward. We were so happy when the hotel extended its invitation to us to preview this year's Ramadan buffet. Ixora Hotel Penang's 2018 Ramadan Buffet is called Citarasa Desa Ala Pak Nass. It offers a tantalizing buffet experience with more than 150 mouth-watering specialities that showcases traditional Malay cuisine. The Citarasa Desa Ala Pak Nass Ramadan Buffet will be held from 21 May to 14 June, 2018 at the hotel's main dining outlet, The Straits Café. It is priced at RM86.00 nett per adult and RM56 nett per child, with a buy 10 free 1 deal available at this rate. For a limited time before 25 May, 2018, an early bird promotion of RM70.00 per voucher is also available.

In addition to the buffet at The Straits Café, Ixora Hotel Penang is also holding the buffet at its Baba & Nyonya Ballroom on the same dates. Pricing for the buffet at the ballroom is RM58.00 nett per adult and RM45.00 nett per child.

Citarasa Desa Ala Nass Food Preview

A preview of Citarasa Desa Ala Nass was carried out on 4 May, 2018, and was attended by selected members of the local social media community as well as corporate guests. The preview offers a plethora of dishes showcasing traditional Muslim fare. This ranges from savoury dishes to desserts and cakes. Among the items we enjoyed that night include the Shawarma Ayam, Ayam Kuzi Berempah dengan Kismis, Daging Dendeng Madu and laksa. There was also Penang Char Koay Teow which we enjoyed very much, and later we found out that the chef frying the koay teow had won a cooking competition for it.

In addition to the savoury dishes, we also enjoyed the numerous Malay kuih and cookies. The dates available here comes with assorted coating, and this makes them special and tasty.
