The Spice is a restaurant at
Royale Chulan Penang. Located on the 2nd floor of the hotel, next to the swimming pool, it offers a cosy bistro-style ambiance.
The Spice serves fusion cuisine, combining Asian and Western specialities, from an
à la carte menu. In addition, Executive Set Lunches are also available from Mondays to Fridays, 12:00noon to 2:30pm, and Fusion Dinners on Saturdays to Thursdays, 7:00pm to 10:30pm.
Our meal at The Spice
My wife and I were hosted to a lovely lunch at The Spice on 4 November, 2017. Our host was Miss Vayshnavee Shunmugam, the Marketing & Communications Manager of the hotel. Although it was a Saturday, the restaurant opened for us. We decided to order from the Saturday Set Lunch menu, which offers a salad, a soup, a main course and a dessert. The main course was particularly memorable to me. It was Crusted Salmon Fillet with Chantilly Sauce, served with grilled cherry tomato, asparagus and Brussel sprout. What I like about the salmon is that the crust was crispy while the flesh was not too dry. The dessert was chocolate mousse.
