Hwa Yen Si Temple (GPS: 5.41255, 100.31872; Traditional Chinese: 華嚴寺, Simplified Chinese: 华严寺, Pinyin: Huá yán sà) is a Chinese temple along Dato Kramat Road, in George Town, Penang>. It is next to Convent Dato Kramat primary school. It faces Johore Road, near Padang Brown.

Hwa Yen Si Temple is attractively ornamented roof with pointed gables decorated with dragons and figurines. The temple is divided into three bays. The central bay has the main plaque proclaiming its name, Hwa Yen Si. The walls are finished in Shanghai plaster.

Getting there

The nearest bus stop is along Dato Kramat Road, in front of Convent Dato Kramat. It is served by Rapid Penang bus 10, 11, 102, 201, 202, 203, 204, 304 and 502.
