Jamnagar (Gujarati: જામનગર) is a city on the eastern part of the state of Gujarat, India. It is located on the south coast of the Gulf of Kutch, about 337 km to the west of the state capital, Gandhinagar.
The history of Jamnagar goes back to 1540, when it was established by Jam Raval to be the capital of the Princely State of Nawanagar. Today it is best known as the site of the biggest oil refinery in the world.
