Bu Halima Enclosure, New Delhi (19 November, 2004)

The
Bu Halima's Enclosure (GPS: 28.59275, 77.24493) is a section within the compound of Lodi Gardens in New Delhi where many of the tombs of the emperors and aristocrats of the Mughal Dynasty were located in Delhi. Among these tombs are those of
Humayun,
Isa Khan and
Barber.
It seems to be almost certain that the garden existed before the tombs were built. However since the greater tomb complex was built on the established axis of Bu-Halima's garden and gate, the garden was simply incorporated into the larger scheme of things. As a result of this, the garden became a sort of subsidiary court to the enchanting complex of Humayun's tomb. The ticket office for the tomb complexes is located in its gate.
