Rewa (Hindi: रीवा) is a city on the northeastern part of the state of Madhya Pradesh in central India. It has a population of 183,000 people (2012 estimate).
Rewa is near the border with
Uttar Pradesh, and is close to Allahabad. The Narmada River, called the Rewa here, flows through the city which was named after the river.
The history of Rewa has been traced to the 13th century. It remained a princely state until the independence of India, when the last ruler of Rewa, Maharaja Marthand Singh, acceded the state to the Union of India.
