Telangana తెలంగాణ) is one of the newest states in India, having been formed on 2 June, 2014, out of the ten northwestern districts of Andhra Pradesh. Covering an area of 114,840 square kilometers, this landlocked state is also the 12th largest in India.
Telangana shares borders with Odisha and Chhattisgarh to the north, Maharashtra ana Karnataka to the west, and Andhra Pradesh to the south and east. It has a population of 35.3 million people, based on the census of 2011.
