Diorama of an Indian Barber Shop depicts a traditional Indian barber shop in George Town, Penang. New Light Hair Dressing Salon is an authentic Indian barber shop located at the junction of Queen Street and Market Street, right in George Town's Little India. The diorama shows the front of the shop, where a patron was reading a newspaper. He sits on a bench beside an MPPP rubbish bin. The tile work on the front façade of the shop is painstakingly rendered.

Within the barber shop itself, we see a row of plastic chairs lined up against the wall. There are three barbers at work. One was giving a patron a cut, another a drying up and the third a shave. Pictures of state and federal leaders are lined up on the wall above the mirror, along with thase of the then Penang Chief Minister.
