Candi Dasa is a beach resort town in East Bali. Located on the edge of a lagoon, Candi Dasa is described as a quiter alternative to Kuta, and more natural than the manicured Nusa Dua.
Originally a fishing village, Candi Dasa has been developed for tourism. There are a number of diving schools here. For divers, there are a number of good dive sites in the sea off Candi Dasa. You can find a number of guesthouses or losmen here, along with restaurants and bars.
The specialty of Candi Dasa is bebek betutu, which is succulent duck in herbs and spices.
Overlooking the lagoon of Candi Dasa is Pura Candi Dasa, a Hindu temple to the goddess of fertility. Two kilometers from town is another temple, Pura Gomang, located on a hillock, with good views of the coast.
Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
