Krambitan is a small village in Tabanan regency in Bali. Also written as Kerambitan, it was once the center of an old agrarian kingdom that existed until the turn of the 20th century. Today, the kingdom is gone, but you can still see remnants of its glorious past. The two old palaces of Krambitan, Puri Anyar and Puri Agung Wisata, today breathe new lives as guesthouses.
Krambitan is also a place to watch the staging of old Balinese dances where
tektekan orchestra is used. Tektekan is a form of
gamelan where cymbols, called
cengceng, bamboo sticks and cowbells are included.
The coast is just 6 km from Krambitan village. At the coast you can find some
losmen or guesthouses along Klating Beach, the black-sand beach which offers scenic views. It is a good place to relax and get away from the crowds of
Kuta.
