Lovina is the tourist belt along the northern coast of Bali. The area stretches from 5 km to the west of
Singaraja to 15 km to the east, within the regency of Buleleng.
Within the Lovina stretch are several villages from Kaliasem to the west to Tukadmungga to the east. The beach here has black sand and coconut trees. Outrigger canoes can be rented here for dolphin-sighting trips.

The name Lovina, which is said to come from "Luv Indonesia", was taken from the home owned by Pandji Tisna, the Regent of Buleleng, who pioneered tourism in Bali in the early 1950's. Unlike the more happening tourist spots such as Kuta, Lovina in comparison is subdued and serene. This is a place for relaxation and quiet reflection. At the village of Temukus, you can do a trek to visit the Singsing waterfall.
