Puri Saren is the royal palace of Ubud. It dates from the 1890's, and was built for the local ruler, Cokorda Gede Sukawati.

Puri Saren has undergone some restoration and renovation in the mid 20th century. The beautifully ornate walls and gates were the work of Bali's master artist I Gusti Nyoman Lempad (cc.1862-1978).
