Irrawaddy Road Pocket Park (22 December 2012)
Irrawaddy Road Pocket Park (GPS: 5.42538, 100.32243) is a small urban park in
George Town, Penang. Created by the Penang Island Municipal Council (
Majlis Perbandaran Pulau Pinang), it is is bordered by
Irrawaddy Road and
Salween Road.
Irrawaddy Road Pocket Park provides a patch of manicured greenery a the quiet corner of George Town. Although small in size, it makes good use of existing space. The park is surrounded by tall trees, with pots of flowering plants and a fountain as the centrepiece.
Getting there
The nearest bus stop is along Burmah Road served by
Rapid Penang bus
101,
102,
103, 104 and
304. From there, walk west on Burmah Road till junction of
Tavoy Road. Turn right, follow Tavoy Road till you reach junction with Irrawaddy Road. Turn left, and you will see the park on your right.
