Jalan Ahmad Nor, Jelutong (31 October 2014)
Jalan Ahmad Nor is a 612-meter stretch of highway in
Jelutong, Penang. Until it was given the name, the stretch was simply known as Jalan Tan Sri Teh Ewe Lim Extension. It connects the existing stretch of Jalan Tan Sri Teh Ewe Lim (Batu Lanchang Road) with the
Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway at the Jelutong Interchange.
Jalan Ahmad Nor was built in 2014 and opened to traffic at midnight on 1 November, 2014. This six-lane dual carriageway provides smooth access for the existing apartments in the vicinity, as well as for new development along the way.
Jalan Ahmad Nor was named after the late vice-chairman of DAP from 1988 to 2003, when he passed away at age 60
1. He was the first Malay member of parliament to represent DAP when he won his seat in 1990. Ahmad Nor also served as president of Cuepacs from 1983 to 1986, and as vice-president of MTUC from 1988 to 1991.
