Jalan Han Chiang, Penang (19 May 2013)
Jalan Han Chiang is a minor road in the Green Lane area. It links
Jalan Air Itam to Lim Lean Teng Road.
Jalan Han Chiang is named after the
Han Chiang High School located next to it. The road was formerly a section of
Green Lane. When Green Lane and
Scotland Road were realigned to meet each other, the former section of Green Lane is now Jalan Han Chiang.
Apart from the school, Jalan Han Chiang also serves a few government quarters located in the area. These were built in the middle of the 20th century, at a time when George Town began to expand southwards.
