Jalan Helang Putu Mayong Stall (14 June 2007)

The
Jalan Helang Putu Mayong Stall is a roadside hawker stall in
Sungai Dua, Penang. It is manned by two elderly Indian Muslim hawkers who make a good business selling
putu mayong. One guy would be making the putu while the other preparing it for the customers. The stall is operational daily in the afternoon.
Despite the many trays of putu mayong being made, they seem to go quite quickly, as an unbroken stream of customers converge on the stall as soon as it is operating. Often, customers have to wait a bit for the putu mayong to be ready, as each batch takes some fifteen minutes to steam.
